Old Woman Bay Scarp

The Old Woman Bay Scarp, rising majestically 500 feet above lake level, marks the location of the Red Rock River Fault. Granite rocks, highly fractured by the faulting, are stained deep red by hematite deposited from hot aqueous solutions that once moved along the fault over millions of years.
